Anew Life

13th January 2015

Dear Sir or Madam

Appeal for fund to build a Shelter Home for ex- Young Prostitutes/Women facing Domestic Voilence 2016 CAMPAIGN..

Anew Life (AL) is a global organisation which caters for Widows, Orphans, Youth, Young Adults, Young Prostitutes and Battered women in United Kingdom and Nigeria.

Anew Life project is founded by (Mrs Juliet Oniovosa  Ibe) and beautiful partners listed below. please add your name to this list. I am a U.K Citizen by birth and an ordained minister of God, a writer, a gospel artist, a missionary and a counsellor.  I have over 20 years’ experience working with youth and women in London communities in U.K and abroad.

My vision and goal is to take youth, widows and battered women out of poverty and violence into a new life of stability. I was moved to work with the less privileged, when I had the opportunity to go for a missionary duty with my local church in Liberia and Nigeria in 2005 when I came in contact with people in a very difficult situation.

As I heard testimonies of women who were often raped because they are widows and have no one to stand up for them, I also heard the testimonies of children that lost both parents as a result of Aids and have to care for themselves from the age of 2, the testimony of girls my daughter’s age, 15, used for sexual exploitation, testimonies of poor people living without electricity and food for days, testimony of young girls used as prostitutes and testimony of battered women who refused to be raped. I was very hurt, shocked, dumbfounded and in tears and wanted to help at all costs.

Based on these testimonies and United Nation fact-finding research in 2014 World Hunger and Poverty Statistics report claimed that “more than 70 percent of malnourished children live in Asia, 66 percent in Africa and 4 percent in Latin America and the Caribbean” and many more join the statistics.

I was very touched and determined to see how I can bring a difference to these people’s lives.  In 2012, I started travelling back and forth to Africa investigating ways I can establish a home and partner with other care homes in order to find out and research how we can provide a solution to these groups of people.

In 2014, I used my life savings to establish a surgery, advice centre and temporary accommodation centre in Lagos. The address is 21 Road G Close, Festal, Lagos State. It employs 6 staff. 2 care workers, 2 social workers, one nurse and one motivator. Currently I have mentored over 125 clients but only 15 secured privately rented accommodation.  We still have hundreds of people in a desperate position waiting to be accommodated, but due to lack of funding we are over stretched.

I am appealing to you to assist us in whatever way you can to help this group of people regain their lives. They desperately need you at this very difficult time in their lives. Your £10 or more can help us rent more accommodation and employ more staff to care for them. Do your bit to this good vision.

We will like to appreciate our sponsors who gave a Bag or two, and does who gave for the  kiosk to widows  to sustain income.

We say thank you to: Please note some of them do not want their full name shown
